  • Wheel Bearing Oil Seals?

Waiting on parts to replace my rear brake rotor (75FXE) and thought I would do the wheel bearings and seals once it's all apart.
Ordered the Timkin bearings and cups, no problem but there were two seals available under Part number 47519-72.
One was described as Single Lip Seal, Steel O.D., .305" wide. The other listed as seal rubber OD Double Lip Spring Loaded .410" wide. That's the one I bought but anyone used these??

    Any info?

You should be ok. I think the rubber .410" wide seals stick out past the hub flange when bottomed, but still work fine. IIRC...

What's the point of the extra size?
      Is it width or depth?

Wider...so the thinner ones are flush with the hub flange when seated, I'm not sure the thicker ones will go deep enough to seat flush or not...but both work. I have about twenty of the rubber coated .410 width ones. They all work...

I can't really remember...maybe the later ones were an "update" for the original thin ones.

CRS but you may need the thin version on the front narrow glide
